Commitment  to Diversity

Our goal every year in the Mead yearbook program is to get as many students and topics covered. We try to cover every kid in the book three times. That doesn’t always happen, but we have a student tracker we use to try and get as many people in the book as possible. We also try to be as equitable as we can be with different topics. An example of this is the religion page I did my sophomore year. Mead has a large population of LDS members, so we tried to find as many religions we could to try and represent every student at Mead. In last years book we had a spread about global conflicts. Students at the school held a walk out to show that they were in support with Gaza in the Palestine and Israel war. Even though the walk out inspired this spread in the book, we didn’t want the global conflicts spread to be about one conflict, so we found people who would be willing and had an opinion on different conflicts going on in the world at that time.
